This whimsically retro chalet is love at first sight, with its earthy tones and pops of color.
The House Tour. A private road winds up from the popular Hunter Lake community to this forested property. The main house features an open plan living and dining space with a fully equipped yet minimalist kitchen.
The 20 foot soaring cathedral ceilings and walls of windows usher in loads of natural light with seasonal mountain views. Hand glazed one-of-a-kind inset ceramic tiles frame the charming wood stove, sufficient to heat the whole cabin but complemented by the electric baseboard heat on a remote Nest thermostat.
A retro kitchen for all your culinary endeavors.
A private bedroom is on the first floor, across from the shared bathroom, while the master loft bedroom is up a short flight of stairs from the living room. The house has received some key updates in recent years, including a new on demand water heater, all new windows, an insulated crawlspace, new baseboard heaters, private road and driveway resurfaced and more. Please inquire for a full list of updates.
The Grounds. Glass doors lead to a large deck for grilling, sunbathing and entertaining.
Beyond the house are two newer outbuildings - a two-car garage/workshop that features bright lighting, a dedicated 100 amp sub-panel with plenty of outlets and several 30 amp circuits, and an additional chalet style raised studio building. Both were built in 2015.
Outside is a generous lawn surrounded by the privacy of the forest. Sit under the stars by a crackling fire pit by night, and play lawn games by day. A seasonal spring could potentially be used to fill a small pond or swimming hole. The idyllic Catskills setting, the main cabin, the separate workspaces, all complemented by high speed cable internet, make this a perfect location for working remotely. And if you’re looking for a life hack - an upstate escape that has the potential to pay for itself - rest assured this is a vacation rental friendly location.
The Area. The house is located in a populated yet quiet lake community, ensuring three seasons of fun on the water: boating, fishing and in the summer, swimming. The lake has multiple shared access points, the closest of which is a short walk past a handful of neighboring cottages.
Meet your new weekend (or full-time!) escape.
